Rusty Dagger: Den of Rats is a solo adventure. The Rusty Dagger rule set is 21-pages and $2.
The plot? A quest to remove dangerous and hungry ratmen bandits from the surrounds of a small town.
It’s a game of two parts. There’s a read first, which outlines items to prepare, including miniatures and terrain pieces. The second is the print-and-play game. You will need to print it as the PDF is a mixture of orientations, the assumption being you’ll turn this into a brochure or pamphlet by folding it up.
The introductions;
In the quaint town of Clemstead, you sleep peacefully at the town’s Inn. As the morning rays of the sun begin to seep through the slit of the heavy curtain to your room, you are abruptly awakened by a blood curdling scream. Wiping the sleep from your eye, you stagger over to the window and pull the curtains open. In the streets below, you see a small troop of ratmen terrorizing the market area. You could let the filthy rats escape with their meager loot, but if you were to intervene the vendors in the market would surely pay you for the trouble of dispatching the ratmen.
I suspect you could wing the game without Table Salt’s system but the $2 rule set looks like excellent value.
Rusty Dagger: Solo Adventure Zine Game is a set of print and play rules that require very few additional items to start playing.
