Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World is getting a second series. To make sure you keep up with the plot, there’s a summary video which bashes you over the head with the action so far.
Part two is due out next year, and Crunchyroll will stream it.
IMDB’s synopsis reads;
As a war rages on between a machine-based empire and a magic-focused empire, a witch and a soldier meet and fall in love. Will their romance bring an end to their nations’ conflict?
Season one had two directors with Shin Oonuma and Miarai Minato, both of whom worked on BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense, but we’re yet to confirm details of the cast and crew for season two.
The show only has a handful of reviews on Crunchyroll, surprisingly few, but rates well. The one written review is scathing. It starts;
I am offended by how little the writers, editors and producers think of the audience. The ONLY reason to watch this show is to play bad writing bingo: Flashback, flash forward, twins, love interest between enemies, teenager saves the world, innocent girl savior, lazy racism, sexism, non-hetronormative derogatory characters, etc.
The light novel by Kei Sazane is available from Amazon.
