You might have seen this happen with gig tickets or hardware such as game consoles when people buy up the limited number but desirable goodies and then put them straight on eBay to make a tidy profit.
It’s happened with exclusive D&D jewellery, which GameStop secured.
The set of six rings, one which looks a bit like a tiny knuckle duster, another that’s an eyeball, sold out.
GameStop’s page says;
The Dungeons and Dragons Ring Set is perfect for dedicated Dungeon Masters! Utilize the six rings in this collection to your advantage. This six-ring set, with highly detailed accents, is a GameStop exclusive and perfect to wear to your next big campaign or for everyday wear. It also comes in an attractive display box, along with a numbered certificate of authenticity. Perfect for anyone who loves D&D!
Tempted? The size 8 to 12 adjustable rings come with a collector box and certificate of authenticity. The cost? Only $39.99, and there’s an almost perfect 5/5 stars review rating.
Too good to be true? The rings sold out.
In a bit of a surprise, the rings ended up on eBay. I’m linking to the search results as even these resold rings are flying.
The auctions I’ve seen have included asking prices of around $80, which is about double the initial cost.
Will GameStop restock the D&D rings? It’s uncertain, but the original creator, SalesOne Studios, has been saying since March that they had sold out.
D&D x RockLove has a range of D&D pendants but not rings.
