The Etsy dice store Eternalverse is running a Kickstarter for oddly shaped and stone-coloured runic dice. These d6s and d4s are truly random, the shop insists, and certainly look pretty cool.
The pitch is you can use this set to read the runes or interpret for storytelling, and you can pledge or find out more from the crowdfunding platform.
Previously, the dice have been made in Eternalverse’s workshop, but with the Kickstarter the company is ramping up the product. The result should be economies of scale and cheaper dice.
The dice come with a card and instructions on how to read fortune throws.
Our rune dice are irregular shaped YET balanced. We made several testings of our rune dice to make sure that despite their irregular shape they were as balanced as possible and, the numbers surprised us a lot. Our designer was able to find the sweet spot between rune/ stone shape and the perfect geometry.
We’ve missed the early birds but a pledge of €6 is enough to get one of each dice – that’s a d4 and a d6 in this case, but that’s not enough for a reading.
A pledge of €12 will get you ten d4s or six d6s.
At €15, which is about 14, you’ll get four d6 and six d4, while backers at €25 will get twelve d4 and eight d6. I’m not knowledgeable about runes, but I presume that’s enough for most situations.
That top tier has most of the pledges, and shipping will still need to be worked into your expenses.
The Spanish company estimate July 2023 for delivery.
