The ink drawings of Aaron Howdle will find life in an art book combination RPG sourcebook as The Sorcerer’s Enclave is 500% over funding if all goes to plan.
SquareHex and Peter Regan’s pitch video is elegantly simple and clever as it, I think, uses a PDF page-flip viewer to show the actual Enclave digital book to people. You can see that below or on the pitch page.
There is a print version of the book, too, which makes sense, as SquareHex is about selling paper pads and OSR books.
The Sorcerer’s Enclave will be a 48-page hardcover, 200 x 265mm and on 200gsm silk art paper. It’ll come with an A2 poster folded by a machine to fit into the A5 book.
At the time of writing, the funding for the campaign is close to unlocking the ribbon bookmark.
Aaron Howdle is an illustrator and mini designer, and their work has been featured in other games. There’s a separate online store if you like Aaron’s style but are Kickstarter cautious, with models and posters starting from about £15.
Imagine O’ Traveller, the wild north, then cast your inner-eye east to the Inland Sea and thence to Olla’s Island, seat of the Sorcerers’ Enclave. A retreat for the study of magic and the maintenance of its secrets.
You can support the indie project by sharing it on social media, and a pledge of £4 is sufficient for a PDF copy of the book to be your thank-you reward.
A print copy of the book, with the folded map, is added at £25.
The two limited tiers are selling out. The signed book has gone already, and there’s one £90 signed test print and original art left.
The PDF is due in January, and the print is in March. The art and test print, though, is slated for February 2023.
