A group of seven anonymous authors published the K project manga. K (Kings) went on to achieve anime adaptations, and GoRA was never heard of again.
Until Ayaka: A Story of Bonds and Wounds. The group is back, and there’s an anime on the way.
As you can see from the trailer, the project is advanced and is expected to air in Japan in 2023. We know much of the cast too.
- Yuto Uemura (Atsushi in Bungo Stray Dogs) will voice Yukito Yanagi.
- Takuma Terashima (Atsushi in Tokyo Revengers) will act Jingi Sagawa.
- Takahiro Sakurai (Reigen in Mob Psycho 100) plays Haruaki Kurama.
- Yuichiro Umehara (The Goblin Slayer in Goblin Slayer) will be Aka Ibuki.
The anime team isn’t a secret. Studio Blanc are making the show, with Nobuyoshi Nagayama (Happy Sugar Life) as the director.
Crunchyroll describe the plot;
The story follows Yukito Yanagi, an orphan who one day encounters an eccentric disciple of his father’s. The strange man takes him to his birthplace on Ayakajima, made up of seven islands where mysterious beings called “Mitama” and dragons are rumored to reside. There, Yukito meets his father’s two other disciples, who protect the harmony of Ayakajima… which soon threatens to collapse.
