I have a dice advent calendar for this year. I don’t need the dice, but I’ll keep them, and I’ll throw away the box. Garmr Games will be greener with ADVENTure Calendar as the box is a grimoire prop you can LARP with or re-use as you see fit, and rather than dice, there’s a whole adventure set, battle maps and minis.
Sound greener? It is; Garmr have paid particular attention there. The mini sprues get recycled, and even the ink is non-toxic. The catch? You won’t get the box this year. You can find out the details of the campaign on Kickstarter.
There’s a free to download (Google Drive) first scenario already available. The calendar will provide that if the project is successful in week one.
Yann Sotino’s team is made of gamers who have worked on old RPG titles such as Marvel, Chill, The Dark Eye and, yes, Dungeons & Dragons. The adventure set in ADVENTure is 5e.
The box/book is sturdy enough to carry your game rules for a nice ancient touch or be carried around by your LARP Mage Character for example.
The miniatures are classics that you will use in many low level adventures.
The Battle maps feature an Inn, city streets, forest dwellings … all generic locations that are found in most adventures for maximum reusability.
Backers can buy into the pledge manager for US$2 or get the PDF of the adventure, with supporting stretch goals, at $20.
For the entire calendar, there’s a Black Friday offer if you’re quick (it launched today!). If you miss that, then $80 plus shipping gets you the 24 minis, adventure booklet, character sheets, battle maps and stretch goals of the complete set.
$150 gets you two sets, and there are tiers over $1000 with unique offers.
As noted, it’s not December 2022 that this calendar is expected, which is wise, but November 2023.
