Drizzt fan? The Dao of Drizzt from Voyager is a hardback 432 pages long.
It’s the first time Drizzt’s thoughts on life and love, good and evil, harvested from 30 years of novels, have been compiled into a single book.
The standard edition is out and available from Amazon. That gift book has deckled edges and a faux-leather cover.
Author R.A. Salvatore has signed the bookplated edition, and you can pre-order that from Forbidden Planet now, with a release date of 4 January.
Forbidden Planet is currently sharing the cover used for the classic book but notes that it may change.
We’re told;
Growing up in the chaos of Menzoberranzan, one young drow elf tries to make sense of the conflict between the traditions he must serve and the protestations of his own conscience.
To lay bare the injustices he sees and to strengthen his own resolve to follow the ethical call of his heart, Drizzt Do’Urden is both an agent of action and self-reflection.
These, his writings, become critical to his salvation, the way in which he makes sense of a world that to him makes little sense at all.
The impact of his words, of his meditation, of his inward determination will carry him forward, forcing upon him decisions that others would consider noble, perhaps, but surely foolhardy… impossible even.
But to Drizzt, the only choice is to do what is true and right.
The book won’t be out in time for Christmas but may well sell out of pre-orders before then. It’s hard to imagine R.A. Salvatore signing many thousands of copy so it may be the case of pre-ordering the Dao of Drizzt while you can.
