Newt Newport and D101 Games are back on Kickstarter for a short fantasy adventure game. SimpleQuest is 150 pages and entirely self-contained d100 RPG.
OpenQuest came out last year, and on this project, Newt crafts an even more compact version of the game. At the time of writing, the Kickstarter is about x4 the funding target, and you can see the latest tally on the pitch page.
The finished book will be 6×9 inches, a good size, and with full-colour illustrations from Jeshields, the talented Jon Hodgson will craft the wrap-round cover.
There will be three different formats for the game book, one is entirely digital and thoroughly hyperlinked, another will be a print-on-demand from DriveThruRPG, and the last will be a sewn-page, endpaper and ribbon complete printed version.
Not sure? There’s a free-to-download preview available (PDF link).
Backers at the £10 tier will get the SimpleQuest PDF, any PDF stretch goals and a print-on-demand version. D101 aren’t charging you extra for the ability to pay DriveThruRPG to print and ship the RPG.
With the sewn pages, that alternative printed version will come from Newt in the UK for backers who found £25. It’ll be signed.
The PDF and POD versions of SimpleQuest are due in January 2023, and the special printed edition in February.
