Here in Europe, there’s no big deal against unions, but it’s much rarer in the United States. In fact, 95% of privately-owned businesses in the States do not voluntarily recognise worker-organised unions.
That stat comes from Noble Knight Games United, a group of people working to create a union at the games retailer.
In a tweet today, NKGU said that Noble Knight had recognised the union.
There was some impressive momentum behind Noble Knight Games United’s campaign. A letter which seems to come from Fitchburg City Council President Randy Udell supported the workers.
I write today to urge Noble Knight Games United to continue to negotiate in good faith with the workers at your company who wish to unionize and to ensure all are treated fairly and with respect as important decisions about your workplace are made.

We are writing in support of the efforts of workers at Noble Knight Games to form a union. Union membership is key to worker safety, fair wages, fair labor practices, and a business that has happy and productive workforce.
The Noble Knight Games’ Twitter account is yet to comment.
