Apparently, Disillusioned Adventurers Will Save the World (and we’ve been there, right?)
There are two trailers out for the new Apparently, Disillusioned Adventurers Will Save the World anime, and that’s due to start in Japan on January 10th.
The series is based on Shinta Fuji’s light novel, and I think many computer game group members have fallen out and found new friends online.
The latest trailer is full-length.
Yen press runs the manga, adapted by Masaki Kawakami, and describes that;
Veteran adventurer Nick’s life is falling apart. Despite all the knowledge and expertise he’s devoted to his adventuring party, his respected leader kicked him out, his girlfriend dumped him, and his teammates shamelessly accused him of embezzlement. Tired, heartbroken, and looking for a drink, Nick chances upon a few kindred spirits who are jaded as he is. Together, these disillusioned adventurers form an unstoppable team out to save their bleak, depressing world!
The Abema streaming service in Japan has some dibs on the show, so there’s no other platform announcement yet, but that may come.
The first trailer is a half-length, or a teaser, and focuses on Nick, our disillusioned main character.
That trailer came with a similar, but different, synopsis;
Nick used to be a member of a veteran adventurer party, helping his undisciplined friends with the accounts whenever he could. But what was his reward? Getting accused of embezzlement and kicked out by the leader he respected. Before long, he finds a few other jaded adventurers and kindred spirits, and together, they form their own unstoppable party!
I infer from the supplied summaries that this is a computer game, not a fantasy world in which people have been trapped.
Studio Geek Toys is running the project with Itsuki Imazaki directing.
