I think Fun’s printed shirt range is a bit sly. Okay, they’re not for now, not in the freezing winter of Scotland, but if you’re on the other side of the world or reading it later, these short sleeve designs are alluringly geeky.
Why sly? I’d argue that you might see a decorative shirt and not see the geeky design at a glance. There are dozens, but here are three call-outs.
Lord of the Rings: Uruk-hai shirt
The licenced outfit is short-sleeved, collared, and features buttons along the centre front. It’s constructed of a white, 100% cotton broadcloth with a sublimated geometric print of orc weapons, helmets, shields, and Uruk-hai faces bearing Saruman’s White Hand. On one sleeve cuff, “The Lord of the Rings” is embroidered in gold.
DC Comics: Batman shirt
Okay, this design is sold out, but I included it anyway because look at it! It’s sly!
Care Bears: Rainbows and Sunshine shirt
[Stare]
Okay, this isn’t sly at all, this Care Bears shirt shouts.
In a pattern overflowing with rainbows, fluffy clouds, and neon tones, the retailer’s designers recreated the distinct spirit of the 1980s cartoon. Cheer Bear, Grumpy Bear, Tenderheart Bear, Good Luck Bear, Bedtime Bear, and many more of your favourite Care-A-Lot characters appear.
There are also horror shirts, Beetlejuice, Harry Potter, Gremlins and even some Christmassy designs.
