Welcome to tomorrow, today! We’re into sci-fi this festive end to the year as Geek Native has the best selling sci-fi RPGs published through DriveThruRPG this year.
Apologies if you’ve read the disclaimer already, but there’s discussion and comments every time because these are games the designers have tagged sci-fi. You might disagree.
Sci-fi follows with modern era settings, which were looked at yesterday, and where Onyx Path had nearly one in every two titles in the top 20.

Congratulations to R. Talsorian Games, who’ve done very well with Cyberpunk RED, the prequel to Cyberpunk 2077 (the computer game) and, more importantly, the sequel to Mike Pondsmith’s Cyberpunk 2020.
Night City is a big place, full of wild parties, dead bodies, and neon lights. Beneath the thin layer of advertising and grime, it’s got some tales to tell. Stories of vicious gangs, hellbent artificial intelligence, and love. You’ll get to meet suave mercenaries and movie stars, and even take a ride in a submarine. You’ll fight cyberpsychos, dirty reporters, rival Edgerunners, and a high-flying assault team.
Designer Shawn Tomkin must surely have had another busy and cracking year. Ironsworn: Starforged takes second place.
Is there a dominant publisher in sci-fi? Mongoose makes the chart six times, but fellow British publisher Modiphius manage four entries as well.
