Following on from sci-fi best sellers today, we’re looking at “family gaming” on Christmas.
As is common in many English-speaking cultures, DriveThruRPG’s “family” genre generally means “suitable for kids”. The games’ designers decide whether to add the tag to their product, not a OneBookShelf moderator.

Congratulations to Magpie Games, who have managed a rare one-two with Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game and the supplement Wan Shi Tong’s Adventure Guide.
Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game brings you and your friends into the beloved setting of Avatar Legends – as new heroes of your own stories! Weave tales of self-discovery and action with your team of friends, and go penguin-sledding while you’re at it!
Doctors and Daleks, in third place, is the (D&D version) 5e conversion of the official Dr Who game. River Horse’s The Dark Crystal Adventure Game is also official and doing well.
Is it weird to see Brindlewood Bay on the list? On one level, it combines murder with Lovecraftian horror. On another, there’s a conspiracy confrontation baked into every game. The catch? You can play it as you will and as PG as you want.
