It’s the synopsis of Technoroid Overmind that draws my attention rather than the carefully neutral singing of the boy band.
The music is due out next month, but the anime itself is not due until the winter. A smartphone app is already out.
That synopsis? Here’s what the official site says;
A world where most of the earth has been submerged under water due to a rapid rise in temperature caused by abnormal weather. The world is controlled by the World Government (World Governing Organization), which has recommended that robots and androids take over the labor force due to population decline.
And then – an abandoned house on the outskirts of town. For some reason, four androids, Cobalt, Kei, Chrome, and Neon, who have no owner, live in this shared house that people have forgotten. -But then a problem arose for them.
“No electric bill means–no recharge?” “Which means…Forced shutdown!?” To pay the electricity bill, they challenge the towering entertainment tower “Babel,”, a symbol of the new era.
“Babel” is a place where artists, known as Climber, enthusiastically challenge the top in search of inspirational experiences, while enthralled by the climactic stages that unfold. It is an entertainment tower of hope for those who had lost the joy of light.
In Babel, where the absolute champion, STAND-ALONE Alone, reigns, androids try to win prize money to win prizes by clearing the stages through singing performances.
On their way back from their first challenge to Babel, they meet a boy genius. The moment they touch the boy’s “heart,” a special program is suddenly activated within the four of them–.
That’s right; in the future, we’re replaced by robots, but even the robots have bills to pay.
Sounds all too plausible! I also think this is the same anime as Geek Native reported on last year as Technoroid rather than a spin-off. It just seems as if the plot has evolved a little!
