This week and last, Geek Native and OneBookShelf have been sharing which RPGs, supplements and sourcebooks published on sites like DriveThruRPG, Storytellers Vault, and DMsGuild have sold the best.
Yesterday, we looked at Pathfinder Infinite, as Paizo has a community content site in the ecosystem now. There’s Starfinder Infinite too.
2022 also saw OneBookShelf and Roll20 coming together to work as one. The result? We can also see the top 10 at Roll20. Actually, I’ve data for the top 12. So let’s do that!
The top 12 best selling RPGs on Roll20 in 2022
- Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse from Wizards of the Coast
- Princes of the Apocalypse from Wizards of the Coast
- Spelljammer: Adventures in Space from Wizards of the Coast
- Hoard of the Dragon Queen from Wizards of the Coast
- Cyberpunk RED from R. Talsorian Games
- Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel from Wizards of the Coast
- Rise of Tiamat from Wizards of the Coast
- Call of Cthulhu: Starter Set from Chaosium Inc.
- Kingmaker Adventure Path from Paizo
- Dragonlance Shadow of the Dragon Queen from Wizards of the Coast
- Pathfinder Mega Bundle from Paizo
- Call of Cthulhu Keeper Bundle from Chaosium Inc.
Congratulations to Wizards of the Coast for the ongoing success of Dungeons & Dragons. 50% of the top 12 are WotC products.
It is R. Talsorian Games with Cyberpunk RED, the Cyberpunk 2020 sequel and Cyberpunk 2077 prequel that pips Radiant Citadel into the top five. It’s the highest-ranking non-WotC product and must surely benefit from the publicity around the computer game and the fantastic anime series.
Paizo and Chaosium appear twice, using bundle offers cleverly to tempt gamers to try something other than 5e. As we rush towards One D&D, that moment of ‘Shall we try something else?’ will be a critical question asked by virtual tabletop gamers around the web.
