In response to the concern about OGL 1.1, the suspected changes to the rules third-party publishers must follow to use 5e, Pinnacle Entertainment has launched Savage Universe.
Savage Worlds is 20th this year and is a system that allows third-party publishers to create settings and sourcebooks for the tabletop RPG.
The website, which is launched in pilot phase only, currently says;
Savage Universe is THE place to find out about all of Pinnacle’s partners, including Aces, the Savage Worlds Adventure Guild, Translators, the Media Network, and even fans! We’ll showcase our partners’ excellent works, point you to Actual Plays, put all the various licensing information in one easy to find place, and so much more!
An email from Pinnacle’s COO, Jodi Black, acknowledges that third-party licensing is an extremely hot topic currently and suggests Savage Universe is also a way for creators to promote projects.
On the 12th, on Twitch, PEG will run a “licensee open house” from 8 pm Eastern for people to pop in and ask questions.
