Handiwork Games is one of those third-party publishers who don’t seem best pleased with Wizards of the Coast and the direction of 5e and the OGL.
Beowulf: Age of Heroes is a 5e game from Handiwork, inspired by one of the oldest stories in Europe and adds rules so you can play with just a DM and a player. Duet play. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, or make sure you get maximum life from your old OGL 1.0 5e without needing to buy any more Hasbro-backed books.
As studios like Handiwork look to decouple from 5e and investigate their alternatives, we might see more of this; quick bundles of ‘days before’ content put up on offer. And you’ll have to be quick for Beowulf as the deal ends on the 6th of February.
