Horror master Junji Ito is getting an anime series called Maniac. The third trailer is out, builds slowly and then tumbles into a crescendo of the macabre.
How much time do we have? The streaming platform will air the series on the 19th. Junji Ito’s Maniac is nearly here.
Junji Ito is a renowned Japanese horror author best known for his horror manga works. Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1963, Ito has been hailed as one of the greatest horror manga authors in the world. Ito’s works, such as Uzumaki, Gyo, and Tomie, are celebrated for their unique blend of horror, surrealism, and social commentary. His work has been adapted into various mediums, including film, television, and video games. Ito continues to write and illustrate horror manga with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
There are 20 horror stories featuring in the series, and by the looks of it they all get an appearance, no matter how brief, in this English subtitled trailer. We can expect a mix of cosmic and body horror.
Crunchyroll sourced the running order of those 20, which is good coverage of anime on a rival platform. It will be;
