Warhammer Wrath & Glory and Doctor Who publisher Cubicle 7 have announced they have a new gaming system.
We’ve seen publishers step forward with their own systems in recent weeks because of the OGL drama. That’s now resolved with Wizards of the Coast backing down and may leave Cubicle 7 in a strong position as their C7d20 rule set is compatible with 5e.
Cubicle 7 say;
C7d20 will be a complete rule set that is compatible with 5e — you’ll be able to use all of your favourite 5e books and supplements, including Uncharted Journeys and Broken Weave. A core rulebook for C7d20 will launch later this year and you’ll be able to see hints of what is to come when Broken Weave launches. We’re involved in discussions about open licensing and will have more news on this as the situation develops.
Broken Weave is a new tragic fantasy from the Irish publisher.
The weave of magic is broken. The gods are dead, the lands are shattered, and the world has begun to forget what it once was. Time and distance have lost their meaning, the knowledge of how things once were drifts away like smoke, and those who remain struggle to live in a shattered world.
The timing means Broken Weave will come out before C7d20, but players will be able to use 5e with it and switch later if they prefer Cubicle 7’s clever approach.
An EN World forum poster, Emmetation, presumably Cubicle 7’s Emmet Byrne, indicated that they’d love C7d20 to be compatible with Kobold Press’ Black Flag, adding;
So we’ll definitely be reaching out to the Kobolds as we develop ours and they work on theirs
