Eddy and Onyx Path is back on Kickstarter for Pugmire’s latest and greatest incarnation. Realms of Pugmire is a tabletop RPG set in a world long after humanity has fallen and our unlifted animals have taken over.
The world is dangerous and mysterious, but good dogs will find a way through. Several hundred backers have, too, and Pugmire has pushed through the $30,000 funding goal set by Onyx Path. You can see the latest tally or pledge from the pitch page.
There’s more than just evolved dogs in Pugmire; cats are the next focus based on the 1e version of the game, but these core rules about the dogs. Our heroes are protectors or villains and outcasts for the dog civilization.
Exploring dogs find old technology, mistake it as magic, and trust in the One Ones to be worthy of emulation.
What’s in the new edition? We’re told;
- Many refined and clarified rules developed after years of playing and community feedback.
- New and updated tricks, spells, masterworks, and enemies.
- New features include random and template character creation, friendship rules, and safety tool advice for Guides.
- Advice on how to create cat and rodent player characters right away.
Onyx Path offers immediate access to developing book scripts on Kickstarter while putting a far future delivery date in place. It’s similar this time around.
Digital add-ons and pledge manager access start for backers at just $5, but it’s $25 for the Realms of Pugmire PDF and a discounted print-on-demand coupon.
Jumping up to $55 unlocks the standard edition hardcover, which gets added to the tier before. There’s worldwide shipping on offer, paid for separately.
The standard edition implies another, and a Collectors edition, aka a Deluxe Limited Edition, is swapped in for the standard edition for backers at $100.
At $250, you can name an NPC and pick up the standard edition, but the combo of supplying a photo of your pup to bring to life in the book and the hardcover has sold out.
I did say Onyx Path set the due date safely in the future, and for these post-apocalyptic dogs, we’re looking at March 2025.
