Children of Time is a sci-fi series; the first book is also called Children of Time, by Adrian Tchaikovsky is an Arthur C. Clarke Award winner and has one of my lines.
The line is when intelligent spiders are evolving their civilisation. Yet, the dominant females are still prone to hunting in the slums, killing the occasional male spider from time to time, but fellow spiders wave it off and say, “girls will be girls”.
On Mastodon, Adrian Tchaikovsky asked for recommendations on who knows his books and has a good track record with TTRPGs.
Do I know anyone (or anyone who knows anyone) who has read my books and has a good track record with putting out tabletop RPGs – maybe Powered by the Apocalypse or by the Dark style games?
Children of Time follows the journey of a human crew as they attempt to terraform a distant planet. The novel follows the story of a group of scientists and engineers who have been tasked with the mission to save humanity by transforming a barren planet into a habitable world. Along the way, they encounter a race of intelligent spiders that have evolved on the planet and must figure out a way to coexist. The novel examines themes of conflict, ambition, and morality as humans and spiders must reconcile their differences and find a way to live together.
Tchaikovsky has been recommended Lumpley Games and John Harper, Handiwork Games (who’s 2e a|State uses Forged in the Dark) and Evil Hat.
