Madness Heart Games has a Zine Quest offering about goblins surviving the gig economy, which has picked up a “Projects We Love” badge and pushed through the $2,000 goal.
Madness Heart Games is from the award-winning John Baltiserger horror, fantasy and sci-fi author, and you can find out more about this project from the crowdfunding platform.
It’s a small RPG coming in as a single double-sided folding pocket map. It’s also a small RPG regarding party needs, as it can be played with 2+ players.
One player is the GigL Master (GM), who creates the gigs for the Goblins PCs, who then have to travel the sprawling metropolis and perform their tasks.
The system is appropriate for goblin dystopia as you roll whatever you have handy, check with the traits of Benefits and Stressors and take it from there. The Chaos Table and factors like getting hurt or paid can influence those Benefits or Stress tags.
Here’s how the game is pitched;
- One side with rules, random tables for creating jobs and Goblins, and the Chaos Table, which helps the GigL Master add more and more chaos to the game as things go on.
- One side with a map of the city, which features locations for tasks and random tables that display events, threats, obstacles, and treasures.
- Easy hackability into other Cyberpunk-themed roleplaying games!
Backers at $10 will get a digital edition of the game as a reward and the digital stretch goals too. This tier also unlocks the add-ons.
Those backers with $15 pledged will get a printed folding map and physical stretch goals as well, with BackerKit handling the shipping.
The top tier requires a pledge of $50, and its limited to 10 backers only. That unlocks a game with the creator as a perk.
Madness Heart estimates a May 2023 launch.
