Button Kin Games has a Project We Love badge of honour for the Zine Quest TTRPG entry Drama Llames.
Players are llamas taking part in reality TV. Curious? The pitch video is an interview with designer Yvris Burke who articulately spells out the game. You can find out more or pledge from the project page.
Yvris Burke is the designer of the solo RPG Bumbling, and in that game, you’re a bee, a baby bumble bee. Inspired by a love for actual reality TV, in Drama Llamas, Yvris is doing what she knows – reality TV.
Hipolita Fernandez is the editor, who’s worked on games like Moriah and Apocalypse Keys, and the art of Alvaro Torres looks like a world of fun.
The project will commission a 40-page booklet, fully illustrated in colour, a session 0 and chargen section, rules, GM tips, character sheets and quick reference cards for players.
Drama Llamas is a narrative driven TTRPG about reality TV competitions. Easy to plan and easy to play, the game contains everything you need to create (or recreate) the reality franchise of your dreams. The game is packed with genre tropes and chaos-generating mechanics, all with an absurdist, llama-flavoured twist.
Play as cast of fame-hungry llamas eager to grab the spotlight and snatch the big prize. You’ll complete challenges, create drama, form alliances, sabotage your fellow contestants, and expose your deepest darkest secrets. Keep an eye on your drama score, though – toxic llamas never prosper!
A PDF edition of the game unlocks as a reward for backers at £10.
A physical edition, with global shipping on offer, is the upgrade at £25. The PDF is part of that package.
The only other tier is retail. Interestingly, the PDFs are due in June 2023, the retail in November and the physical edition in December. Does that mean the quickest way to get a physical copy is to nag your local store into placing a bulk order?
