Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Anime is an anime based on Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe’s Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga.
There’s a promo video out for the series now, and blink in the wrong place, and you’ll miss the dwarf character who features twice in the short trailer. Or perhaps three times, I probably blinked.
IMDB describes the series briefly with;
An elf and her friends defeat a demon king in a great war. But the war is over, and the elf must search for a new way of life.
Bocchi the Rock! director Keiichiro Saito is at the helm at Madhouse. There might be some pressure as the manga has won awards, and the 10th volume is fresh off the printing press in Japan.
Viz has been releasing the series in English and has a slightly different description of the plot;
Decades after their victory, the funeral of one her friends confronts Frieren with her own near immortality. Frieren sets out to fulfill the last wishes of her comrades and finds herself beginning a new adventure…
Anime news sites report that the TV show is due out this fall, which I always have to remind myself means autumn, when the leaves fall, not winter.
