The series will be split into two halves, the first kicking off on April 10, and I think some of the characters will have the same fate.
Trigger: Blood.

Dead Mount Death Play knows the audience it’s going after with this dramatic trailer.
Crunchyroll will stream the series, which is based on the manga by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Shinta Fujimoto. However, Crunchyroll don’t say they’ll stream it at the same time as Japan, as they sometimes do, but shortly after.
Right now, Yen Press have the rights to the English books and from them we get this Dead Mount Death Play synopsis;
It’s a showdown for the ages as the legendary hero takes on the corpse god necromancer, but when the dust settles, something isn’t quite right… In the final moments of their epic confrontation, the corpse god’s final gambit shot was wholly unexpected — reincarnation magic! Across space and time, a boy named Polka Shinoyama awakens feeling…not quite himself…… Who could’ve expected that the climactic battle between good and evil would turn out like this??
However, in France, it’s Ki-oon sell the manga, and from that, we get;
The world is on the edge of the abyss. The Master of Bodies, a necromancer demon, has accumulated immeasurable power. For humans, there is only one hope: the victory of the legendary holy knight. The final confrontation promises to be titanic! But, at the last moment, the monster uses a mysterious arcane magic that envelops the hero in a strange light…
Suddenly, a change of scenery. A young boy wakes up in a dark alley in Shinjuku, in the heart of contemporary Tokyo… Disoriented, he is surprised not to recognize anything and, above all, to be pursued by a young girl who is trying to kill him! In an instant, he strikes her down with… his necromancer powers!
Dead Mount Death Play overturns the rules of the reincarnation story! Black magic invites itself into our world… What use will make it humanity’s worst nightmare?
Manabu Ono (Sword Art Online: Alicization) and Ono is also acting as the series composer. Studio GeekToys is at the helm.
