With Crunchyroll as the studio, Hajime Yatate’s Cowboy Bebop launched in 1997, which makes it 25 years old.
Humanity has colonised most of the rocky planets and moons of the Solar System by the year 2071, roughly fifty years after an accident with a hyperspace gateway rendered Earth nearly uninhabitable. With crime on the rise, the Interstellar Police Department formalised a contract system under which registered bounty hunters (also known as “cowboys”) pursue criminals and bring them in alive in exchange for a reward.
The limited edition is a Region A or B Blu-ray; sorry if that’s not you. There are actually 5 discs in the set with 650 minutes of runtime and 264 minutes of special features. There are even additional limited edition features with art cards and a new, not seen elsewhere, 25th Anniversary video.
