Tales of the Valiant is the RPG that will build on the Creative Commons core now at the heart of D&D’s 5e. It was once known as Project Black Flag and a response to Wizards of the Coast’s attempt to revise the OGL that once kept D&D open.
There will be a Kickstarter for the new ‘Core Fantasy’ RPG in May, and you can sign-up for notifications.
Kobold Press will release the Core Fantasy Roleplaying rules under a perpetual and irrevocable license. Tales of the Valiant itself will get two books: The Player’s Guide and The Monster Vault.
The RPG has an official website already, and it says;
The Player’s Guide includes 13 base classes, lineages and heritages from classic fantasy roleplaying, and the rules you need to play or GM, all between two covers. The Monster Vault includes every dungeon-crawling and fire-belching fantasy creature you need to craft compelling fantasy encounters.
