Based on the trailers, I’ve described Studio Olm’s Dark Gathering anime as creepy. Does this make me a wimp?
Maybe, but I’ll run the latest Dark Gathering teaser here, and you can decide for yourself.
Dark Gathering, directed by Hiroshi Ikehata (TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You) and produced by studio OLM, is based on a manga by Kenichi Kondo that was first released in 2019. (Summer Time Rendering, ODDTAXI).
VIZ Media have the English manga rights and VIZ describes the horror;
Keitaro is ready to stop living as a shut-in. He’s starting university. He’s reconnecting with his childhood friend. He’s taking a tutoring job. And he’s not messing around with ghosts anymore. At least that’s what he thinks, until he finds out the elementary schooler he’s tutoring is an occult-obsessed genius who’s hunting down dangerous spirits and won’t stop until she’s found the one that took her mom!
Dark Gathering is due out in July this year.
