Liberty Games designs games rooms. I don’t mean cool D&D-themed rooms but more old-school and frat-Esq rooms with arcade machines, air hockey tables and neon-lit bars.
However, Liberty or its market research at least cares about computer games too. They’ve been doing some research, mining through public Twitter data with HuggingFace, an AI, used to work out whether people were being positive or negative.
HuggingFace, by the way, is used by Google, Microsoft, Grammarly, Intel and Meta. That’s pretty impressive.
World’s most loved games
Let’s start with the positive and the games people like and their characters. At the top, there’s Halo with 14 countries and Pokemon.
However, cut the data differently, and there’s a very different story. Who’s on top? That goes to a Dragon (Spyro, The) and with Mario and Sonic franchises coming in next.
World’s most hated games
Well. Pokemon ranks again, as does Final Fantasy and even Halo once more. However, the most disliked games are Battlefield, Dark Souls and plenty of sports games, with Football Manager leading the charge of shame.
Liberty Games’ stats
Liberty Games have published their data and supplied more colourful infographics to sum things up.
Based on the stats above, you can guess who the most popular characters might be. The most hated character? That top ten is more surprising.
Spoiler, there’s actually an @I Hate Luigi Twitter account.
Liberty also looked into consoles and then zoomed in on Nintendo.
