If you have the core Star Trek Adventures RPG from Modiphius (also available from Amazon), you can now leap into the Lower Decks.
The comedy cartoon spin-off, Lower Decks, has been popular and now has an official RPG for the Star Trek Adventures series. A 240-page full-colour hardcover supplement is slated for 2023. That’s Star Trek: Lower Decks Campaign Guide, and it’ll have new info, new spaceframes, several new playable alien species, new equipment and the humour we’d expect from the show.
Preorders for Star Trek: Lower Decks Campaign Guide will open this summer, but you don’t have to wait. There are two official supplements for the Lower Decks TTRPG out already.
Already a best seller at DrivethruRPG, there are the mission Lurkers and the Season 1 Crew Pack. You can also get both via Modiphius directly.
Lower Decks Season 1 Crew Pack
Who (and what) is inside the Crew Pack?
- Ensign Beckett Mariner
- Ensign Bradward Boimler
- Ensign D’vana Tendi
- Ensign Samanthan “Sam” Rutherford
- Captain Carol Freeman
- Commander Jack Ransom
- Commander T’ana
- Lieutenant Shaxs
- U.S.S. Cerritos NCC-75567
The supplement weighs in at 17 pages and has the stats for characters we met in the opening season.
Star Trek Adventures Mission Lurkers
The mission is slightly larger at 21 pages and written by Christopher L. Bennett, set in the Lower Decks era with the PCs also has junior Starfleet officers.
Furthermore, there are tips in the download on how to adapt the scenario for other Star Trek eras.
A regular maintenance check on a subspace relay station uncovers a far more significant issue on a nearby planet. A pre-warp civilisation is amusing itself by leaking Starfleet data from the relay station, and only junior officers can solve a problem that (once again!) jeopardises the Prime Directive.
Shawan II is home to a pre-warp humanoid civilisation at a late 20th-century Earth level that has turned classified Starfleet data into a pop-culture phenomenon. The ship’s crew must guarantee that the leaked material does not jeopardise Starfleet in any manner. Someone will have to go down to the planet, although fans of Starfleet communications may recognise the senior crew. Therefore it’s up to some brave and astute ensigns to sneak onto the planet, interact with fans and reviewers at a convention, and sort this mess out.
