£144 million or $180 US dollars was what the feature-length prequel anime Jujutsu Kaisen 0 took in globally.
Perhaps it’s not a surprise to see that Jujutsu Kaisen 2 will also be a prequel, going back to follow Gojo and Geto through their own time at Jujutsu school.
Since the special announcement at AnimeJapan 2023, we know that the MAPPA-produced anime is due back this year on July 6.
Crunchyroll is streaming both 0 and series 1, and, I hope, gets season 2 as well.
It’s Crunchyroll who describes the series;
Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.
The key animator from one of the season one Jujutsue Kaisen episodes, Shouta Goshozono, is stepping up to be the season two director. The voice of Hawks in My Hero Academia, Yuchi Nakamura, plays the part of Satoru Gojo, while Reigen from Mob Psycho 100’s voice actor, Takahiro Sakurai, plays Suguru Geto.
