Not related to the Liar x Liar manga, but the Liar Liar light novels by Haruki Kuo, Liar Liar is an anime that offers mind games. That, I think, feels fitting!
The action is set on the infamous “Academy Island”, where students battle their excellence rankings.
Hiroto Shinohara got a perfect score on this school’s entrance exam, known to be the most difficult in the nation. On his first day of school, he dethrones the reigning queen, Sarasa Saionji, and becomes the quickest student to ever be inducted into the school’s elite “Seven Stars.”
However, in reality, he didn’t. Falsehoods abound in this whole scenario. Now he has to use deception and bluffing to stay at the top of his class. He does this with the assistance of Shirayuki Himeji, a cute “cheat maid”, and Saionji (a phoney).
The Geek Toys studio behind the anime has Girls Frontline directorial talent Naoki Matsuura at the helm, along with Satoru Ōno.
Genta Nakamura voices Hiroto Shinohara, while Yukina Shutō (Haru Urara in Uma Musume Pretty Derby) is Shirayuki Himeji, and Wakana Kuramochi (Liselotte Arcia in Reborn to Master the Blade) plays Sarasa Saionji.
