Privateer Press is running a short Kickstarter for Into the Deep Wild. The 5e extension has about 10 days left to run but several times over the $60,000 goal.
The Iron Kingdoms is a popular setting, clearly. Perhaps it’s a surprise we’ve not seen Privateer doing more in the post-OGL-drama world, even though the company is focused more on mini skirmish and wargames. You can check out the progress from the pitch page.
Three books are being funded for Into the Deep Wild. There’s the Iron Kingdoms: Into the Deep Wild, Monsternomicon: The Lost Pages and Iron Kingdoms: Deep Wild Expeditions.
If this is your first brushing with the Iron Kingdoms as a 5e setting, then you’ll have to pop over to Privateer Press’ online store to buy the core books or past expansions. The Kickstarter for Into the Deep Wild is exclusively focused on Into the Deep Wild.
Iron Kingdoms: Into the Deep Wild offers rules for playing bog trog, croak and gatorfolk, subclasses, magic and warbeasts. The book also has two new wilderness classes; the monster hunter and warlord.
The Monsternomicon: The Lost Pages brings more than 100 new beasts, the blighted servants of the dragon Everblight and his dragonspawn with classic monsters from every era of the game.
Lastly, the Expeditions book has four new adventures.
There is tier support for retailers, but for those of us not needing to worry about stocking a shop, the first tier with rewards is $25. The digital player tier is just the first Into the Deep Wild PDF. The Digital GM tier, which has the adventures and the other two books, is $50.
If you’re a player and want a physical book with the PDF as a reward for backing $55 or more. Getting all three books in paper, because you’re likely to be running the game, costs $115.
Privateer Press estimate a January 2024 delivery date.
