Released under the Creative Commons license and using one or two d12s, The Hydracore System is a new project from Thirteenth Moon Games.
The system rewards teamwork and collaboration without costing characters their unique sense of self. The universal system asks for $5,000 to fund and has ten days left to get there.
Hydracore is setting agnostic but has tailoring and stretch goals, including Cyberpunk, Gothic Horror and Shifters adjustments.
First, though, the project must fund. Hydracore comes from the d12 mechanics from Coven & Crucible, an RPG of paranormal shenanigans.
The team remains the same, the author, roach and gamer Stephan Kelly, supported by Goblin Charlotte, the illustrator.
13th Moon Games say very little about the system but do note;
Easy to learn, quick and diverse system that emphasizes character specialties in overcoming obstacles to get back to the storytelling quickly without sacrificing character autonomy.
If you chip in $5 to make the project happen, you’ll get a credit and at $20, you’ll get a PDF copy of the game as a thank-you.
Backers at $50 will get a DriveThruRPG coordinated hardcover instead of the PDF, which means shipping, and if you want both, it’s $70.
After a big jump that takes backers to $250, there’s the additional reward of becoming an NPC or for $350 being illustrated into the book. If you want both, being turned into an illustrated NPC, then that requires a mighty $500 of backing bucks.
13th Moon Games estimate a delivery of September this year for all the tiers.
