It turns out that sometimes a giant and sullen cat is exactly what you need. Although, if your furry friend really is struggling with depression, then perhaps the focus should be a little less on what you need and a bit more on them.
The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today is a TV anime adaptation of Hitsuji Yamada’s manga, and it is due out in Japan next month.
The big cat is being directed by K’s Susuma Kudo and Katsumasa Tokomine. Two directors? Kudo is listed as the chief director, Yokomine is the director at GoHands, and GoHands is the studio in charge. Hmm.
The manga has been going since 2018. There’s an English license for the manga, and Seven Seas have control of that. Its Seven Seas Entertainment that provides the synopsis;
When Saku took in a stray black cat, she never expected that he would become the equivalent of a housekeeping life partner. But Yukichi, a giant cat who towers over Saku, is not your ordinary feline. He takes great pride in his culinary skills, and a good sale at the supermarket always gets his whiskers twitching. Saku may not have her act together yet, but at least she has Yukichi!
