Did you know that the twin-sword-wielding Drow Drizzit Do’urden was supposed to be in Honour Among Thieves, at first but later replaced by Xenk?
It may have been concerns over how the dark-skinned and generally evil elven culture is portrayed in the game that worried Hasbro off the idea.
It may have worked out, Xenk’s considered to be one of the best and perhaps the breakout character in the movie.
However, Hasbro hasn’t been worried about releasing a new Golden Archive model of Drizzit for $29.99.
There’s been a Pulse exclusive for a little more money, and this 35th anniversary of The Legend of Drizzt novels is a bit more affordable.
Drizzt Do’Urden is a popular character for a number of reasons. He is a drow, a race of elves typically evil, but Drizzt is a good-hearted and heroic character. He is also a skilled warrior and adventurer and has faced many challenges throughout his life. Drizzt is a complex and well-developed character who is relatable to readers of all ages. He is a character who always strives to do the right thing, even when difficult. He is also a character who is loyal to his friends and family, and he is always willing to fight for what he believes in.
The model is 6-inch in scale, suitable for ages 4 and up, and the packing has a copy of R.A. Salvatore’s signature.
Drizzt first appeared in Salvatore’s story The Crystal Shard, when someone in marketing told him he needed to replace one of the original characters. Salvatore came up with Drizzt on the spot as a replacement, and when audiences took to him, he made him the lead in The Dark Elf Trilogy. He appeared in 34 novels over more than 30 years. He’s dabbled in video games, animated shorts, comic books, and Magic: The Gathering cards.
