Evil Genius is the publisher with the official licenses for tabletop RPGs for several action movies. We’re talking titles like Pacific Rim and Escape from New York. The company’s Everyday Heroes RPG powers them, and that’s a 5e update of d20 Modern with some of the original designers involved.
One of the seminal d20 Modern sourcebooks was Urban Arcana, which added fantasy elements like magic into our contemporary world.
Evil Genius announced they’d reboot Urban Arcana and run a world-building contest earlier this year. Ten finalists who impressed judges with a 200-word proposal would be paid to expand that to 1000-word submission. That round would produce the finalists for a public vote, with the winner hired to write a 50,000-world history of a magical world for Everday Heroes.

The 200-word pitch ideas
As there’s a public vote on the way, with money and a contract on the table, we are not linking these finalists to their 200-word pitches.
However, a separate post on Geek Native does list all 10 of them, and comments are welcome. This post is in a different running order to anonymise the entries.
