Not all is as it seems in The Family Circumstances of the Imbalanced Witch (Dekoboko Majo no Oyako Jijō), and watching the trailer is a great way to figure out the twist.
It’s not a plot twist; it’s a twist that defines the gag comedy of an anime and is okay to know in advance. At least, that’s what Google Translate and sources like the show’s website, Anime News Network and Japanese news site Natalie seem to be saying.
Wikipedia has the plot based on the manga run by Piroya. It says;
A petite-figured witch named Alissa who has been living by herself in the forest found an abandoned human baby. She decided to raise the baby and naming her Viola. 16 years later, Viola grown larger than herself that people would misunderstand their position. The story follows the unusual daily life of Alissa, Viola, and the people around them.
That’s right. The busty witch is the adopted daughter, and the petite one is the mum.
The anime version of The Family Circumstances of the Imbalanced Witch was announced last year and will premiere in October.
Masahiro Takata (High-Rise Invasion) is directing at studio A-Real.
I’ve no idea why there’s a giant dork of bird in the show. I guess we might find out!
