An account created by Forged Gaming and RealmSmith called The Ultimate Game Master currently has over 1,600 backers and over a quarter of a million American Dollars pledged.
The campaign is for a magnetic GM screen designed for the modern inclusion of smartphones and tablets. You can back the early bird-enhanced campaign or find out more from the project page.
The screen will be 98.5cm wide by 30.5cm tall, and the cover, which makes the photographs look so good, is Polyurethane Leather. Polyurethane Leather is synthetic, no dead animals, and is wrapped, glued and we’re told also stitched in place over metal sheets in the GM screen.
Every panel in the screen contains a metal sheet, those are also sewn into place, and the idea is that this means you can put the magnets anywhere; rather than finding one specific part on the screen, you can pin your notes.
The partnership has also worked hard on keeping the costing down while offering a premium screen. The claim is that this particular product is between 50% and 70% cheaper then similar alternatives.
Being a Game Master is such a personal experience that we’d never want to assume how anyone wants to set-up their own screen. For that reason, the very essence of the Ultimate Game Master Screen is grounded in customizability – with magnets that allow Game Masters to set-up and rearrange their tools in whatever way is best for THEM. Even on the fly!
There are early bird tiers left, and they’re limited in number not by time, but they’re also the only tiers we can see right now, except for the retailers. This means we can’t see what the difference could be if we delay backing.
The early bird tier for the core screen, which comes with the dice tower clasp, four magnets and 12 magnetic charts, is available at $89. There’s worldwide shipping, but that’ll be added in later.
The alliance also says the costs will increase once the Kickstarter and pre-order phase is over.
At $159, there’s an early bird tier which adds four initiative trackers with wet/dry erase inserts, three creature trackers, a small pouch, a large one, a phone holder and a tablet holder.
The $159 tier is about to sell out.
The last B2B backer tier is $279, which adds an exclusive GM pin, an exclusive dice track, dice with tin and a backer t-shirt.
The estimated delivery for all this is January 2024.
