On Tuesday, the 13th of June, Brabblemark Press will release I Am Furious (Pink) via Itch and on DrivethruRPG which will also offer a physical copy of the game.
I Am Furious (Pink) is a new narrative tabletop RPG that explores the themes of cumulative trauma and supernatural vengeance. The game includes a series of beautifully realised colour illustrations and designs, offering a unique and thought-provoking perspective on these complex issues through the rules and setting.
I Am Furious (Pink) allows you to experience the events of one terrible day and then, reborn with the power of a goddess, retrace your steps to exact vengeance or mercy on those who wronged you.
This game is inclusive and welcoming to all players, especially those who have experienced a life-changing transition related to their gender, sex, body, or relationships. In fact, the game was inspired by the controversial 1967 Swedish film I Am Curious (Yellow), which tells the story of a young woman who explores her sexual identity and the social and political conditions around her.
I am Furious (Pink) preview
This game is a complete narrative tabletop RPG in a digest-sized (5.5 “x8.5”) format of 24 compact pages. It includes covers, bookmarks, and alternate text for image accessibility.
Also included are downloadable character and opposition scene sheets, plus two plain text versions: dyslexia-friendly and basic sans-serif. The sheets and plain text versions are also available separately.
The preview guide Geek Native has seen for the game says this of the rules;
The game includes six character stats, as well as edges, hindrances, gear, and powers, but is primarily a freeform game for experienced players who enjoy heavily narrative games, often without a GameMaster. You and the other players choose the scenes you’re interested in as the story progresses, taking turns improvising the scenes, building the story and playing the Opposition—though you can designate a GM if you prefer.
The setting, to me, feels very much part of the game, but I am Furious (Pink) has been designed to be flexible. The guide says;
The base setting is a near-future urban sprawl, but other settings (western, noir, medieval, modern, and more) are included, along with examples of appropriate gear. You can easily set your game in other worlds and times as well, all without modifying the basic rules!
Brabblemark Press may be better known for the bestselling gold real-life-meets-fantasy Corporia RPG.
