In the 5e game, player characters are dinosaurs.
Planegea is a primaeval fantasy roleplaying setting where the planes of existence have not yet been divided. Planegea is a world of heroes who feel the cold wind raise a shiver of quest and hope on their raw skin, drawn from the traditions of Sword & Sorcery pulp adventure, combined with the blood-pounding thrills of epic roleplaying, and caught in the jaws of our primaeval dreams.
For GMs, Planega has an adventure section with wilderness tools, clan tools and adventure environments for stone and sorcery scenarios. A gazetteer describes the world from Blood Mountain to the World-Fangs and Knightdom of the Dead. Planegea also introduces dozens of new monsters and rules for forging primal gods.
Players get a guide for the surprising life in a stone age world, kinships, new sub-classes, backgrounds, trade rules and plenty of new spells.
The oozing jungle shakes with the thunder and roar of the barbarian atop the awakened mammoth. He whirls his enchanted bone axe, signaling the sorceress soaring above. She folds her wings and dives, ablaze with magic. Tonight, her spells and his rage will at last lay waste to the slimy lair of the tentacled tyrant-lizard and its corrupted brood!
Still vibrating with star-magic, the translucent elf scavenger—her edges dreamlike and indistinct—holds her breath. She carries her flint dagger in one hand and her offering of blood in the other as she descends, trailed noiselessly by her ever-silent halfling companion, into the cave of the bear-god.
His stony beard glittering with gemstones, the dwarvish fighter and saurian spellskin bow their heads to receive the clan blessing as they prepare to track the fire-giant slave-raiders. The great clanfire claws at the night sky and the shaman sings of rescue and dawn, but the rocky heart of the dwarf beats only with the drum-song of revenge.

Planegea RPG actual play
I’ve found this actual play of Atlas Games’ 5e setting, which reassures me, given that the GM isn’t professional, and the set is real and raw.
The Standard edition costs around $59.95 Atlas Games, and I see it discounted to about £43 on UK gaming retailer Zatu. It’s on pre-order right now.
Atlas will also release a Planegea GM screen which will retail for around $20, be three panels of the hardcover screen and come with an 8-page full-colour reference sheet.
