In an interesting development for Stranger Things season five, Terminator star Linda Hamilton has been announced to join the cast!
The casting was announced during Netflix’s 2023 global TUDUM event, which was live streamed from São Paulo, Brazil.
We don’t have any details yet, but Hamilton is yet another big ’80s icon to appear in the popular Netflix show – there’s been a few now!
What we do know is that it’s been almost a year since Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers told fans they wouldn’t be adding any new characters to the upcoming final season.
According to Matt Duffer in Stranger Things 4: Vol. 2 Unlocked: “We’re stopping, we’re not adding any more characters in season 5, I promise.”
Think you spoke too soon, Matt. Not that I blame you; I mean, who could resist the chance to pass up having Linda Hamilton on the show?! I’m sure it’ll be a lot better for it, too.
Hamilton joins the list of ’80s icons who’ve already made their mark on the show, including Robert Englund who played Freddy Krueger, Goonies star Sean Astin, and The Princess Bride star Cary Elwes.
