Curt Covert is back on Kickstarter with success called “Adventure Party: The Role-Playing Party Game“.
The idea is that the players narrate how well their characters have done based on a d20, and the GM, the guess master, has to guess the role. The pre-made nature means it can be used at short notice for a party while still feeling like a tabletop adventure. The $10,000 target has been met, but there are now less than two weeks left to be a backer.
The game suits 3 to 8 players and lasts up to an hour with a recommended age of 14 or higher.
Locked in an image, a blurb reads;
Welcome to Adventure party, part guessing game, part role-playing adventure… party “OMG how has this never existed before??”
Take on a series of epic adventures as classic fantasy characters. Thrill to heroic triumphs and laugh your way through inevitable, hilarious failures.
But true success lies in your ability to describe the outcome of your plans, based on how well or how poorly you rolled! The closer the GM’s guess to your actual roll, the more XP Points the party will earn.
A galaxy of RPG stars are on video enjoying the game, and there’s shipping for most of the world up front and transparent. It’s cheaper, one notes, for the game to go to China than the US, but getting the box into Brexit Britain is still more affordable than getting it to Canada. The world of logistics is strange.
Backers who pledge $35 or more, about £28, will get the core game with shipping and VAT to be added.
Then, there’s a jump. At $80, there are also ‘Character Class’ resin dice added and an expansion pack.
Higher still, at $150, a customer character screen which features your art joins the rewards.
The estimated delivery date is February next year.
