Based on the popular science-fantasy and somewhat surreal TROIKA! Longshot City is designed to get you into a superhero game in very little time.
Production quality is front-and-centre of the campaign, with a lavishly illustrated 70-page hardcover being prepared, and that tactic has worked as the campaign has superhero-punched the target pledge. You can join in from the pitch page.
The final Longshot City book will have 36 Archetypes to support a range of superhero concepts and a further 36 Origins, which together come to 1,296 combinations.
There are 24 arch-nemesis, with a Motives & Methods system to support them and create tense campaigns, and three procedure campaign structures detailed so you can start playing immediately.
There are patrol rules, a conspiracy board system to track grudges and an escalation system. The latter is about foiling the baddies’ plans before things worsen.
However, things don’t get deadly bad for superheroes often as in the genre, a KO is more likely to be a kidnapping, a flashback that alters the character or even a grimdark relaunch, and there are rules for that too.
There are Nameless Grunt hence-army rules, hideouts and a map of Longshot City in which the game is set.
Longshot City, the place, is a dangerous town and the players are protecting it. Build your own hero team from a huge selection of Archetypes and Origins, covering almost anything you can think of! Are your a trenchcoat mage who got their powers from being sucked into a work of fiction? Or maybe you’re a parasitic powersuit from outer space? And if your imagination is bigger than one book, fear not! There are simple guidelines on how to make more.
Fans who support Longshot City with £13 or more pledges will get a PDF as a thank you.
At £26, the thank you response includes a physical book, and that tier is several times more popular than digital only.
There’s a £76 tier if you want four copies, and then at £86, we’ve an incredible collection; a character sheet pad, bookmarks, GM screen, NPC cards, custom dice, paper minis, initiative tokens, a bag for initiative tokens, the PDF, the book and Longshot City box, a patch and a sticker.
The £136 tier is similar to the £86, but there are four copies of the book and at £333, four copies of the material things.
The Melsonian Arts Council estimate a delivery date of December 2023.
