Little Red Goblin Games have an average rating of 4.5/5 on DriveThruRPG and have published the Gestalt RPG Playtest today.
The beta test version of the 400+ page rule book is now free in digital form. The game system is described as one that focuses on ease of rule, leaning towards the Rule of Cool, uses the d20 and lets you start with two character classes at once.
I especially like that Little Red Goblin Games take an early opportunity to describe the tone of the game;
Noble-bright roleplaying in a golden era of adventure
The publisher says they’re looking for feedback. That’s implicit with the $0.00 price tag, you could take all 403 pages and say nothing, but that’s not in the spirit of the deal. There’s a feedback form and the LRGG Discord for discussion.
The indie studio also calls out that they want to create a creative and permissive playspace suitable for players of all backgrounds. The Gestalt book gets into issues of consent, dynamics between real people and how to deal with sensitive subjects. That also means Gestalt is an RPG which might not ban taboo topics.
Little Red Gobin Games’ current best seller is Gonzo: Mad Science, which has an electrum badge and the 4.5/5 review we’d expect.
