The first bit of Geek Native coverage for Ranga Crimson came out last year and led with the sombre business of dragon hunting. The latest trailer has sombre moments but also desperate battles, demons, dragons or perhaps demon-dragons.
The show will premiere on Japanese TV in September.
Square Enix Manga has the books in English and on Amazon. They describe Daiki Kobayashi’s series;
In this action-packed dark fantasy, humanity lives under the threat of annihilation by immensely powerful dragons. The dragon hunter Ragna embarks on a revenge-fueled quest to eliminate that threat once and for all!
Dragon hunters: warriors armed with special silver weapons who kill their prey for bounty. Lowest among their ranks is Ragna, who forms an improbable partnership with the young genius Leonica, a master dragon slayer with more kills to her name than almost any other. All Ragna wants is to stay by Leonica’s side, but his dream is shattered by an attack from the deadliest dragon imaginable…
The Ragna Crimson anime has Chiaki Kobayashi as Ragna, Ayumu Murase as Crimson and Inori Minase as Leonica. Butlers versus Battlers director Ken Takahashi is at the helm of the Silver Link project, and Noragami writer Deco Akao is looking after the scripts.
The manga is in its final story arc, which started in August 2022.
