Edinburgh’s Sam Zhao is back on Kickstarter and has a smash hit. The inventor has shattered funding goals for a single cube to replace an entire poly set.
One large six-sided cube is laden with spinners, and each spinner is a die. There are about three weeks to join the crowds and back the Kickstarter project.
The dice are 47mm in width/height/depth or 1.85″ if you prefer. Made from zinc allow, the dice weigh 400 grams, and I suspect that will make them heavier than you’re usual plastic polys!
Several colour options are on offer, and the stretch goals and success of the campaign unlock more as we go.
There are also add-ons such as dice boxes, pouches and coins. Oh, somewhat more traditional dice too!
Want stat blocks for the featured creatures? Sam’s got those too;
Our good friend @petrusdamen, one of the best and most passionate DM you’ll ever find, have helped us create DnD5e Stat Blocks for each of the Monsters that were used to forge the Lord of the Dice.
There are many tiers for backers, and from £1, you can get into the add-ons and pick and mix your rewards.
Monster Coins are available at pledges of £3 and £15.
The dice box, for which you might need very many by now, are tier rewards at £25, £46 and £120.
The Lord of the Dice, for which you only need one but might want more or more exclusive designs, is awarded at £38, £70 and £180.
There’s even a £73 bundle, which many have grabbed, that offers a Lord of the Dice dice, a dice box and a coin set.
Shipping, which must be added later, is slated for different times, with the coins likely out before the end of this year and the dice boxes as well! The fancy spinning dice are a few months later and will probably begin to appear in March 2024.
