DriveThruRPG has revealed the tabletop RPGs which made the final cut of PocketQuest 2023.
PocketQuest invited creators to create a themed, pocket-sized TTRPG in two months. Why? DriveThruRPG, now powered by Roll20, planned the event as an ideal opportunity for novice designers to get their feet wet and seasoned designers to join the community for fun.
Last year’s theme on DriveThruRPG was Summer Camp, resulting in several unique and nostalgic titles. DriveThruRPG set this year’s theme for PocketQuest as Space. Jokes about “out of this world” are already on the launch pad.
Dozens of creators contributed to the theme-making titles ranging from terrifying alien invasions to light-hearted and charming space exploration. Among the 50+ titles submitted are those by brand new publishing partners and those with several years of DriveThruRPG experience.
At the time of writing, the top five hottest are;
- Delivered! A Solo Journaling RPG by Rage Kage Games.
- Cosmic Twilight – Core Rulebook by Quinn Blackwell.
- Sparksingers by Jozef Fralkor
- Bottom Feeders: Game of Scavenging by Jani Hietikko.
- Lost Echoes – Quickstart Demo Black Dragon Tomes.
DriveThruRPG is doing more than just setting a theme and a deadline. The RPG e-commerce site will also promote the event with a homepage banner and bonus Publisher Promotion Points. Publishers use PPPs to buy site placements and try to persuade gamers to check out their games.
