Dice Goblin are a Milton Keynes-based dice and accessories maker who has returned to Kickstarter and found success with the first session of themed dice. This post is about Dice Goblin’s goblin dice.
These goblin dice are easy to read, themed, and have a 5e adventure. The suggestion that they’re session #1 very much suggests more coming, and the campaign will likely take double the target. At the time of writing, there are more than two weeks to get involved and you can do so from the pitch page.
Regular readers will know what I’m going to ask, and you’re right. The question is, “Do you need more dice?”
And, yes, that question is always followed by “Do you want more dice?”. I certainly see the attraction of Dice Goblin’s designs here! I suggest they focus on ease of reading above the goblin theme. That’s likely a good thing.
I’ll admit that I’m more interested in those goblin t-shirts available as add-ons. No, I don’t need any more t-shirts either! However, if I spy them on the Dice Goblin’s site, I may buy one with some goblin pins.
Backers at £14 get one dice set from any of the designs that have been unlocked. At this tier, there’s that free 5e adventure and access to the add-on store for those t-shirts and other goodies.
There’s a jump next which takes us to £48 (or £44 if you get the early bird – which is more popular than the opening tier) and offers up 4 sets of dice. If you start here, then further add-on sets of dice are cheaper.
Need more than four sets? Dice Goblin does wholesale, and it looks like more than a dozen backers are dice-hungry. At £120, you can get 12 sets of goblin dice.
The higher tiers are strictly retail only, and I wonder if any store will opt for the £840 offer for 120 dice sets!
The estimated delivery date for these mathrocks is December this year.
